MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. It is an international, non-denominational ministry, designed to support and encourage mothers as they raise their pre-school children. MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. MOPS groups meet at different locations all over the world, helping moms to make connections and share with other mothers during this very special - and sometimes challenging - time in life. MOPS meetings offer opportunities for community, mentoring, practical instruction, discussion, teaching, creative activities, and more.
The MOPS International theme for 2008-09 is "Adventures in Mothering." The metaphor for "Adventures in Mothering" is an amusement park. With the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of the amusement park, motherhood might feel like they are on sensory overload. But our MOPS group will enjoy this journey together and learn how to better enjoy the ride!
