What is Moppets?
Moppets is the name for our Mops child care program. While you enjoy fun and fellowship in a nearby room, your children will be loved and provided for by dedicated child care workers. We know that a huge part of relaxing and enjoying your alone time is knowing that your children are safe and happy!
How much does it cost?
There is a $40 child care fee per semester. If you join more than halfway into a semester (after four meetings), you will be charged $5 per meeting instead of the full $40 fee. The amount will be due up front, when you decide to join. You will then pay the full $40 at the start of the next semester.
How does it work?
Be sure we have a registration form on file for your child. Then, sign up for the next meeting you plan to attend. Simply sign in on the website, click on the meeting on the calendar, and sign up. We should have the names of your children on file, so we will know which kids to expect. (If, for some reason, one or more of your usual kids will not be there, please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan child care accordingly.)
After you have reserved a spot at a meeting, just show up, sign your child in, and help him to get situated in the classroom. Please be sure to bring an extra set of clothes, diapers, and wipes, and be sure that everything you bring is labeled. If you choose to bring toys from home, be aware that they may accidentally get mixed in with the rest of the toys. Please leave valuable items at home!
Bringing an extra child to Moppets
Sometimes, due to school closings or other unexpected circumstances, you will have an extra child on a Mops day. Although we love your kids, we need to have enough workers for our kids and therefore have a reservation policy in place. We will not be able to accommodate extra children on short notice, and you will have to make other arrangements for your non-Moppets kids. If this forces you to cancel, please contact one of the coordinators and let her know you won't be able to make it.
Mops will be canceled if Metro schools cancel or delay school by more than an hour on a Mops meeting day. In the event that a meeting is canceled, it will be indicated on home page of this website as soon as the decision is made.
